രാജ്യത്തിന്റെ വിവിധ ഭാഗങ്ങളിൽ അതിശക്തമായ വേനൽച്ചൂട് തുടരുന്നതിനിടെ യുഎഇയുടെ കിഴക്കൻ മേഖലകളിലും പർവതനിര പ്രദേശങ്ങളിലും അപ്രതീക്ഷിതമായി ശക്തമായ മഴയും ആലിപ്പഴ വർഷവും (Hailstorm) അനുഭവപ്പെട്ടു.

ചുഴലിക്കാറ്റും ആലിപ്പഴ വർഷവും

മസാഫിയിൽ മഴയ്ക്കൊപ്പം പൊടിപടലങ്ങൾ നിറഞ്ഞ ശക്തമായ ചുഴലിക്കാറ്റും (Dust Whirlwind) ആലിപ്പഴ വർഷവും റിപ്പോർട്ട് ചെയ്തു. കനത്ത മഴയെ തുടർന്ന് മലയോര മേഖലയിലെ വാദികൾ (Wadis) കവിഞ്ഞൊഴുകുന്നതായും പ്രദേശവാസികൾ അറിയിച്ചു. കിഴക്കൻ പർവതനിരകളിൽ രൂപപ്പെട്ട സജീവമായ സംവഹന മേഘങ്ങളാണ് (Convective Clouds) ഈ പെട്ടെന്നുള്ള കാലാവസ്ഥാ വ്യതിയാനത്തിന് കാരണമായത്.

കിഴക്കൻ മലയോര മേഖലകളിൽ ശക്തമായ മഴയും ആലിപ്പഴ വർഷവും തുടരുമെന്ന സാധ്യത മുന്നിൽക്കണ്ട് ദേശീയ കാലാവസ്ഥാ കേന്ദ്രം (National Center of Meteorology - NCM) പൊതുജനങ്ങൾക്ക് ജാഗ്രതാ നിർദേശം പുറത്തിറക്കി.

ആലിപ്പഴ വർഷവും ശക്തമായ കാറ്റും അനുഭവപ്പെടുന്ന സമയങ്ങളിൽ പുറത്തിറങ്ങുന്നവർ പ്രാദേശിക അധികാരികളുടെ സുരക്ഷാ നിർദേശങ്ങൾ കർശനമായി പാലിക്കണമെന്ന് എൻ.സി.എം അറിയിച്ചു. താഴ്ന്ന പ്രദേശങ്ങൾ, വാദികൾ, വെള്ളക്കെട്ട് രൂപപ്പെടാൻ സാധ്യതയുള്ള ഇടങ്ങൾ എന്നിവിടങ്ങളിൽ അനാവശ്യ യാത്രകൾ ഒഴിവാക്കണമെന്നും മുന്നറിയിപ്പിൽ പറയുന്നു.

കാലാവസ്ഥയെ സംബന്ധിച്ച വിവരങ്ങൾ എൻ.സി.എം ഉൾപ്പെടെയുള്ള ഔദ്യോഗിക ചാനലുകളിൽ നിന്നുമാത്രം സ്വീകരിക്കണമെന്നും സമൂഹമാധ്യമങ്ങളിലെ സ്ഥിരീകരിക്കാത്ത സന്ദേശങ്ങളും വ്യാജ പ്രചാരണങ്ങളും വിശ്വസിക്കരുതെന്നും അധികൃതർ അഭ്യർഥിച്ചു.

കടുത്ത ചൂട് തുടരുന്നു

അതേസമയം, ദുബൈ, അബുദബി ഉൾപ്പെടെയുള്ള മറ്റ് ഇമാറാത്തുകളിൽ സാധാരണ വേനൽക്കാല അന്തരീക്ഷവും തെളിഞ്ഞ ആകാശവും ഉയർന്ന താപനിലയും തുടരുകയാണ്. ഇതിനിടെയാണ് കിഴക്കൻ പർവതനിരകളിൽ മാത്രം ശക്തമായ മഴയും ആലിപ്പഴ വർഷവും അനുഭവപ്പെട്ടത്.

Heavy Rain Likely in Kerala for Three Days; Orange Alert Issued in Several Districts

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast widespread rainfall across Kerala over the next five days. Orange Alerts and Yellow Alerts have been issued for several districts, with heavy to very heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms expected from July 30 to August 2.

July 30: Idukki, Ernakulam, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur.

July 31: Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Idukki, Ernakulam, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur, Kasaragod.

August 1: Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, Idukki, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad.

An Orange Alert indicates the possibility of Very Heavy Rainfall, with rainfall between 115.6 mm and 204.4 mm within 24 hours in isolated places.

July 30: Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kasaragod.

July 31: Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram.

August 1: Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Alappuzha, Kannur, Kasaragod.

August 2: Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, Idukki, Ernakulam, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur, Kasaragod.

A Yellow Alert signifies the likelihood of Heavy Rainfall, with rainfall between 64.5 mm and 115.5 mm within 24 hours at isolated locations.

Public Urged to Exercise Caution

Residents living in areas prone to landslides, mudslides, and flash floods should move to safer locations as directed by authorities. People residing along riverbanks and downstream of dams are also advised to remain vigilant and relocate if instructed.

Those in disaster-prone areas should ensure that relief camps have been opened and, if necessary, move to these shelters during daylight hours with the assistance of local self-government institutions and revenue officials.

Caution Over Gusty Winds

Strong winds are also expected. People living in houses with weak roofs or structurally unsafe buildings should take extra precautions. The public is advised to avoid unnecessary outdoor activities, as falling trees, electric poles, and hoardings may pose serious risks.

Avoid Non-Essential Travel

The Kerala State Disaster Management Authority has advised the public to avoid non-essential travel during periods of intense rainfall. Leisure trips to waterfalls, reservoirs, and hilly regions should be postponed until the weather warning is withdrawn.

People should not attempt to cross swollen rivers, bathe, fish, or enter water bodies. Gathering on bridges, taking selfies, or sightseeing near overflowing rivers and reservoirs should also be strictly avoided.
